Good magazines are addictive — but unlike many addictions, magazines are good for you. We'd like to share some of the ones we've come across in our travels.

Slightly Foxed ...
We have to thank the folks at Zembla for making us aware of this little gem. Slightly Foxed is a brilliant magazine full of book reviews. It's a publication for those "...who are interested in books that last rather than those that are simply fashionable". What an admirable idea. The writing is lively, the books varied and the publication small enough to carry in your bag. Look out for it on the web. You can subscribe or buy individual copies on their site. Four issues per annum 42.00 GBP posted to Australia.

Is Not Magazine ...
Not sure that this one is still around but it was a good concept. To quote from their site: "Is Not Magazine is the work of five young Melburnians. It is independently published and has no advertisements. It is available for purchase full size only. It is cheap at the price. It is unique in all the world." It is plastered on walls throughout the city so that people can stop and read on their way to and fro.

Zembla ...
Zembla is no longer with us but it's worth looking out for copies in second hand bookshops or at garage sales. It was a London based literary magazine "...dedicated to having Fun With Words". A good looking and interesting mix of interviews, fiction, reviews, and collaborative projects.
